EXPERIENCE

Of course wedding dress shopping is the moment I had been waiting for all my life so this was MY moment. I had done so much research on dresses, watched Say Yes to the Dress about a million times, and going back and forth on my favorite styles for a few months. Let’s just say once I went in store it was not what I expected.

All of the dresses I saw were so pretty but once you put it on it’s a whole different ball game. Some of the ones that I thought I would love I didn’t and the ones I thought just couldn’t be the one were extremely surprising. Going in with a open mind was key and be ready to shop like you’ve never shopped before. This will most definitely be one of your most important outfits of your life.

  1. Research your heart out but go in open minded

  2. Find the perfect wedding dress boutique
    • I live in a big city and there are SO many dress boutiques. I also did research in other cities to make sure I had all my options. 3. Take the perfect entourage
    • I always had the perfect people in mind to take with me to my dress shopping appointments and those people exceeded my expectations. My mom and two sisters came with me and am planning on going back and taking them plus the rest of my bridesmaids to see the dress. I can’t wait to see everyone’s faces!
  4. Set your budget
    • You will see all kinds of beautiful gowns and even try some on that are out of your budget. Trust me it happens! If you are set in stone with your budget this won’t be an issue. Here’s a tip! Start out with dresses way under budget so when you get closer to your budget and it seems to be going out of budget your actually still in your budget! Also make sure to talk it over with mom and dad or whoever will paying for the dress so you’re sure of exactly how much you need to spend.
  5. PHOTOS, PHOTOS, PHOTOS!
    • If you leave a boutique not sure don’t worry! It happens and trust me your dress is out there. There are a MILLION dresses in sorts of budgets so you will get it! What I did every time I went was take a million photos of ALL the dresses I tried on. YES even the ugly ones or the ones that I knew were an absolute NO! The reason being is because once I got home I was able to see what parts of each dress that I liked and which ones I loved. It helped narrow down my search and go with the style that I kept picking.
