Hi friends! Long time no talk about this wedding and yes I promise it’s happening! We had gone back and forth a few times trying to get some things figured out. Well finally we have things set and today I’m bringing you my wedding update #2!

Let’s talk date…

So last update I gave you guys I told you we were shooting to get married in February 2020. Well clearly that has come and gone so…. (lol) we pushed it back and decided to get married this summer in July 2020! It’s coming up really fast and everything is getting real. Speaking of getting real we also ordered our Save the Dates and they look something like this…

Save the Dates

We ordered our Save the Dates a little over a month ago and we ordered them through Paper Culture. The process was super easy and smooth and we were able to choose a design that fit both of our wants and needs. Ryan of course wanted the UH theme one and I wanted the blue and aquarium theme one. Both of these things are a big part of our relationship and who we are so we couldn’t have been happier to find the perfect design.

I highly recommend checking them out if you are needing Save the Dates! We mailed those early February and of course that means we found our venue!

Venue

Last we spoke I mentioned we were looking at venues in Houston and we were even thinking of going out to Mexico to get married. We searched and searched but finally came upon the perfect place that was in neither of these destinations but instead in Austin, TX. That’s right R & I will be married in Austin! I don’t want to give the name of the venue just yet but I will tell you it’s a romantic garden theme wedding and I couldn’t love it more!

When we got there and I was able to peak out to see the garden I instantly fell in love and knew there was no need to look any further this was our venue. Again I can’t wait to share more with you guys once the day comes but for now just picture it in your head. Totally beautiful right! Which brings us onto….

Ceremony

As I mentioned before, we are both Catholic and will be getting married in a Catholic church. Let’s just say getting married in a Catholic church is definitely not the easiest. We are currently in “preparation” with our church here in Houston and have found the Catholic church where we will be pronounced husband and wife in Austin!

There are a lot of ceremonial things that go into the Catholic church and even some extra because of my hispanic background. I can’t wait to see how beautiful everything will turn out to be and to look back at all the photos and videos.

Wedding Planner | Day of Coordinator

Speaking of amazing help we were also able to secure our wedding day of coordinator! Her name is Mackenzie from Events by Mackenzie and she has been the sweetest person to virtually meet and I’m sure will be even sweeter in person. She has been so helpful and even though she is our day of coordinator has been keeping up with me and the vendors. I can’t wait to see her go into full action come this June but I’m seriously so grateful for her already.

Dress

If you follow along on Instagram you saw that I posted a Said Yes to The Dress picture early February and yes I will be a #BHLDNbride! I was lucky enough to go into the store and shop around with my mom and sisters. We had the best consultant who really made sure to describe everything and even help us find accessories. I am beyond excited and can’t wait to walk down the aisle in my dress! I shared my BHLDN try on on stories and it is saved under my “wedding” highlight on my Instagram if you want to check it out!

What’s next?

wedding update, catering, tasting, austin wedding, houston caterer, lighthouse catering

We just found our caterer this past Monday and were able to go to a tasting where we tried some of the best food! I’m beyond excited for our dinner and can’t to have our first dinner as husband and wife. We are still trying to decide on wedding cake flavors because luckily my cousin will be making our cake! We need to get flavors to her soon. Although, Ryan did figure out the flavors for his grooms cake which will be a chocolate cake with Bavarian cream filling. We are doing a cake tasting this weekend and can’t wait! Honestly who doesn’t love cake!?

We are also working on getting invitations this month so we can send them out this month and working on finally securing our photographer/videographer. I’m beyond excited to see the photos and videos as mentioned before and this photographer fits our exact aesthetic.

I will be sharing more as we go on and can’t wait to see it all come to life! If you have any questions of course you can always ask and make sure to check out the vendors I’ve shared so far if you are a Texas bride!
