Getting back to work on a Tuesday was definitely hard but looking into the bright side we only have two more days till the weekend! So ready to relax and take a break from my 3 day weekend.  Today I’m going to be sharing something that everyone has been asking me about and something I’ve been way to excited to share! I’m going to share our proposal story!

Many of you know that I got engaged while in Cabo and I can’t believe it but it’s almost been two months! Where does time go?! Anyway I thought I would share our story all the way up to the proposal and of course go into detail about everything!

Ryan and I had been talking about marriage since last summer.  It was something we knew we both wanted but we weren’t in a rush (and truly still aren’t).  He went back to school last fall which pretty much put a halt on making on big changes until he was done. Fast forward to the beginning of this year.

He had finished school and was busy looking for a job.  I had been busy spending time with my family and taking care of my ill grandmother. We were together for some days and some days we wouldn’t see each other.  The first four months were probably the most difficult for me for many reasons and I thought this year was heading for the toilet completely.

Then the trip to Cabo came and things started to look up. I was feeling a bit down because of everything going on in my family but Ryan definitely made sure to keep my spirits up. We were both extremely excited to be heading somewhere so beautiful.  We had talked about going to Cabo for a long time and honestly this trip was WAY overdue!

Once we landed the excitement went on overload and the weather was perfect.  The first thing we did once we got the hotel was change into our bathing suits and jump into the pool! We also decided to do a bit of exploring and try to find the beach.  We were successful and this is where Ryan started planning out the whole process.

On the beach, there are a ton of vendors and one the vendors sells excursions.  When we got down I saw the horses and was freaking out because how cute are they!? As I freaked out, the vendor from the excursion walked up to us and asked if we wanted to ride the horses.  I asked how much it was and he gave me some outrageous price.

I speak Spanish so you know he had to help a girl out and gave me an amazing price that we couldn’t refuse.  We booked the horse ride for the next day right before sunset.  As we were booking the horse ride another vendor came up to us giving us cowboy hats and asking us if we wanted to buy them.  This vendor pretty much distracted me as Ryan was planning out the rest of the proposal.

Once the vendor left, I got on Instagram and shared the beach on my stories.  Ryan was still with the excursion vendor and I didn’t even think anything of it. After another 5 minutes, Ryan came back and was ready to go.  We left and went to dinner.  Everything was planned and I had no idea. Fast forward to the next day.

Besides the photos we took, breakfast, and lunch, we spent the whole day at the pool.  Around 4:30 we went up the room to change for our horse ride.  I was going to wear shorts but Ryan said it would be better if I wore a dress so that I can share it on my blog or Instagram later.  I didn’t think anything weird of it at all since he is usually my photographer (lol).

We went down the beach and I was originally going to get my hair braided by this lady but she was working on someone else so I decided to skip it to ride our horses.  Now I’m not a professional horse rider at all! In fact, I hadn’t been on a horse since 2015 and that’s because my dad made me get on it.  Also it didn’t move because I probably would have had a panic attack.

So I was a bit nervous getting on these horses to say the least.  We got on the horses and started our ride with our tour guide. About 15 minutes later, Ryan asked the guide to take photos of us.  We handed him our camera to take photos on the horses.  Then Ryan was like come on let’s get down so we can get photos with the whole scenery.

We got off the horses and we were just getting pictures taken.  Ryan grabs my hand and turns towards me on one knee.  My heart literally dropped and at that moment I knew here come the tears.  He asked me if I wanted to be his bots(our nickname for each other) forever? I of course said yes!! I was so in shock because I knew it was something we discussed and I was expecting it but not at this exact moment!

It was such a special moment that I can’t even put it into words! Every part of it was perfect from the scenery, the horse ride, the moment and everything else in between.  I had always told Ryan I wanted something special but also something where I had my nails done, cute look, etc and he exceeded any expectation I had. I’m so excited I get to marry my best friend and can’t wait to see what our future brings.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and thank you’s! We are enjoying every part of being engaged! So far, we picked a year to get married and will definitely be sharing more with you guys over time!

I hope you guys enjoyed our story!
