Happy Monday and Happy Birthday to me! This might be one of the first Monday’s I’ve ever been happy about and excited for because of my birthday. There are a lot of new faces around here so I figured in honor of my birthday I would share 28 Things About Me!
I am turning 28 today (which I can’t believe) and we decided to do a little R&R in Galveston. The weather is nice and the pool is heated so why not? If you are new around here welcome and let’s get into 28 things about me.
- I’m 28 years old
- I’ve gotten a few questions about my age so here it is! I’m 28 years old and I’m living my best life.
- Houston born and raised
- You heard it right here ladies and gentlemen, I’m a Houstonian and proud! I grew up on the north side of Houston and now live closer to central Houston.
- Currently engaged!
- So I’m sure most of you know this (but for those of you who haven’t been paying attention) I’m engaged! I’m doing a ton of wedding planning this year and I will be sharing this journey with you guys!
- University of Houston Graduate (Go Coogs!)
- I graduated from the University of Houston in 2015 and am a proud cougar! I miss being a student sometimes and if you are still in college remember to live it up! College years are some of the best years of your life and you won’t get them back.
- Degree in Communications with a focus on Public Relations
- I always get questions on what I graduated in and here it is! I’m very big into communication and when I started my communications degree I knew it was the one for me. Public Relations has change but it’s definitely helped me take this blog to another level.
- I have one pet and her name is Bubbles!
- I am definitely a dog person. Don’t get me wrong cats are cute but I was always around dogs and just love their personalities. Plus Bubbles is the sweetest so it’s not to hard to admire her for everything she is.
- I’ve been blogging for almost 3 years.
- I started this journey almost 3 years ago and everyday I’m amazed at you guys! You have made this platform come alive and I’m beyond grateful for you!
- Used my Tumblr name to get here
- Another huge question is how did I choose the name “Lovely Silvia.” Well easy! I was using it over on Tumblr and couldn’t think of anything clever so I just transferred it over!
- I love pigs!
- Along with dogs, pigs are some of the cutest animals to me! Which also means… I don’t eat pork. People are always so amazed at the fact that bacon isn’t in my diet and ask me if it’s a religious thing. No it’s not but I do love their little faces so I refuse to eat it.
- Met my fiancé in college
- R & I have been together for 8 years come this December which is a CRAZY amount of time! I wouldn’t trade it for the world though and I’m so happy that I met him at the first university I went to… UTSA!
- AOII till I die
- That’s right I was definitely a sorority girl! As soon as I left for college I knew I wanted to join a sorority! I didn’t join until my third year there but it was one of the best decisions I made!

- Another top question is who is the photographer behind my blog? Well ladies and gents it is Ryan! That’s right my fiancé helps this blog come to live with color and photos! I’m beyond grateful for him and so happy he supports me on this journey!
- Favorite food = pizza
- Hands down no contest it will always be pizza! Again I don’t eat pork so a good cheese pizza is my go to!
- I want to go to Europe!
- I’ve visited a few places but one that is still on my bucket list is Europe! I want to go to Paris, Venice, anywhere in Greece and so many more places! Crossing my fingers that hopefully soon we can visit!
- Huge Disney person
- If I could marry Mickey Mouse I would! Disney World is such a magical place and Disney movies make me smile beyond belief! I love Disney and feel like it will always be a part of my life.
- White is my favorite color
- The absence of color is my favorite color! It goes with anything and everything and love how bright it makes a space feel.
- Oldest of four
- That’s right I have three siblings (two sisters and one brother) that I love and that I couldn’t live without!
- Three of my all time favorite shows
- Are Friends, Gilmore Girls, and Gossip Girl. I have watched each of these series about a dozen times each.
- More of a beer girl than a wine girl
- I love wine more than the next girl but most times I’m good with just a nice cold beer.
- Top three favorite retailers
- Nordstrom, Express, Amazon
- Makeup products I couldn’t live without
- Brow pencil, mascara, blush
- My guilty pleasures include…
- Watching all kinds of reality tv shows! I’m talking Vanderpump Rules, Real Housewives, The Kardashians, Jersey Shore, etc.
- I wanted straight hair growing up
- I always had wavy hair and wanted straight hair so I would straighten it everyday. Now I want more of a wavy style and my hair just stays straight. We can never have what we want lol.
- Favorite season is summer
- I’ve never really cared for summer because if you’re from Texas you know it gets super hot. Within the last few years, I’ve had so much fun and really started to enjoy the summer more than any other season! Sorry fall you’re part of the old me!
- I’m Salvadorean
- My parents are both from El Salvador so yes I’m 100% salvadorean! The food and the culture are amazing!
- In the next two years I see myself…
- Happily married and traveling! R & I want to go to so many different countries and can’t wait to see what adventures we take.
- I’ll eat brunch over any meal of the day
- What can I say mimosas and french toast? Yes please!
- I can read music and played the clarinet for 7 years.
- I was in band all through middle school and high school and loved it! Didn’t continue in college but wish I would have taken a few fun music courses.
