Hey friends! Happy Wednesday! I hope you guys are having a great week. It’s been a weird week where I feel motivated some days and really tired the next! I think my diet change has a big reason to do with it but we will get more into that in a different post. Today I want to talk about 5 ways I stay organized.

With us being 16 days into the new year I love to reflect and look back at all the things I did last year. That being said I know there’s always room for growth and I love to plan ahead to see what my year is going to bring. I mentioned this year was going to be a heavy bridal year and I’m very excited about it!

I also have a lot of new and exciting things going on with my blog and of course I’m making changes for myself in my life. Staying on top of all those things can be extremely overwhelming but I’ve found ways to help me stay on top of all of them. Let’s jump right into the ways I stay organized.

MAKING A LIST OF THE YEAR

We use lists everyday and sometimes we don’t even realize it. When I start out my year I like to make a list of all the extremely important things I need to accomplish. This way I can clearly see what I have for the year to come and can organize it per month as needed.

HAVING A PLANNER

This one is a pretty obvious choice but still one that I get one every year. This year I’m going to be using an Erin Condren planner and I’m so excited! I’ve heard nothing but good things and this will be my first year using it.

Last week I was able to attend a Erin Condren event in Austin and it was beyond amazing. I even got to meet her! Trust me having a planner will definitely help keep your life in check and the Erin Condren one will also keep it colorful and fun.

PUTTING UP REMINDERS EVERYWHERE

So for this one I don’t mean literally putting up sticky notes everywhere (unless that’s your thing) but I mean using all your resources. I have multiple calendars and most of them will say the same thing. This way I can keep up with everything, everywhere, at all times.

So yes I use my planner, but I also use my laptop’s calendar which syncs with my phone and use a desk calendar that I can visually see when I set at my desk. This helps me really keep in line with everything I have going on and I can always use it whenever I forget what I have going on.

GIVING MYSELF TWO MUST HAVES

You wouldn’t believe my list of things to do. As I said, I’m juggling three big calendars this year with wedding, blog, and personal. Instead of overwhelming myself with a million things for that day I give myself two must haves.

What that means is that I will schedule two of my biggest tasks each day that need to be completed. There are other tasks on my calendar but this way I can accomplish important things first and once I’m done I feel so great about it that I move on to other things. It’s been really effective for me and I guarantee it will be for you.

HAVING DAYS JUST FOR ONE CALENDAR

If you are like me and have multiple calendars then you know how overwhelming it can be. For example, blogging means more than just taking pictures and putting them up everywhere. There is a strategy to it all and it takes time. Sometimes the whole day.

So I will schedule a full day of just taking photos, emails, social media, writing blog posts, etc. This helps me focus on that calendar and accomplish it for that day so that the next day I can focus on wedding planning or my personal calendar like scheduling doctor appointments. I usually will rotate this day every week and only give myself one day out of the week.
