Good Morning friends! How many of you are officially working from home? I know many cities are now shelter in place and I hope you guys are keeping safe at home. Since there are more and more people working from home I figured today would be a great day to share 10 Work from Home tips!

I’ve been working from home for roughly about 4 years. It’s definitely a huge change from going in to the office everyday. It did take me some time to get used to but I’ve finally got it narrowed down and have found a schedule that works for me. Let’s get started with the tips!

SET UP A DESK

This one is definitely an obvious one but it’s so important! If you are sitting on the couch or on the bed it can make you sleepy or distract you from your work. Sitting up on a desk can help keep you focused and committed to finishing your work. Plus you can decorate it extra cute! If you are wanting some inspo check out Pinterest!

MAKE A SCHEDULE

I like setting out my schedule for the week but that’s not always possible so I definitely do it the night before everyday. This helps me know exactly what time I have to start and end each task. It doesn’t sound like much but trust me it can really make your day go by fast! If you are used to a certain schedule, aka get up at 7 AM out the door by 8 AM for work, try to continue down the path with a few minor adjustments.

TAKE BREAKS

Just like in your office schedule your breaks! I normally like to start the day with coffee, breakfast, and news! I’ll move from that to checking emails etc and take a break around 10:30 AM. I normally have lunch around 1:30 PM or 2 PM and have one last break around 4 PM. Scheduling these breaks help me clear my head especially before getting into another big task.

GET DRESSED

It’s all about mindset guys and sometimes getting dressed in that really nice dress or top is just what you need! Also don’t forget hair and makeup! Dressing comfies is the best but doing all the time can definitely make you feel like a drag. TRUST ME!

CALL YOUR FRIEND/MOM/SO

It can definitely get lonely and calling your friend/mom/significant other is okay. In fact I do it ALL the time! My number 1 is my mom and normally talking to her for a few minutes helps me feel better. Also talking to you guys on stories and interacting with you all helps as well!

OPEN UP WINDOWS/PATIO DOORS

I will take all the bright light I can possibly get! I love opening blinds every morning as soon as I wake up but if the weather is beautiful you know I’ll be opening up windows and patio doors. If you are the kind of person that likes stepping away from your desk to get some fresh air then this you!

CLEAN YOUR WORKSPACE

As mentioned before the best part of working from home is setting up your space! Unless you are normally used to clutter at your desk, I recommend clearing everything out once your done working. That way the next day you can come back and start fresh! Bonus! That’ll be one less room to clean on the weekend.

PRACTICE A NEW ROUTINE

The best part of working from home is that your routine is going to be different. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing. For example, I now added in working out in my work day and on certain days I take a day off in the week. Why? Because I can! Plus it definitely lets you come in refreshed for the next day if you are feeling tired or sluggish.

BACKGROUND NOISE

Another perk of working from home is that you can have the TV on or your Spotify playing! I normally have one of the two on (just depending on my workload) and it’s the best! I remember when I worked in an office always having my headphones on but at some point I would just want to take them off. At home you don’t have to even put them on!

HEALTHY HABITS

It can be really easy to sit in your chair all day especially when you are at home. Don’t forget to get up and walk around also try to keep snacks out of your office! Trust me it seems like the best idea but not only will your computer get dirty as well as your desk it just isn’t good to be sitting and snacking all the time. As I’m sure many of you know.

I hope these help you guys and if you have any other tips that help you work from home then drop them in the comments below! Have a great start to your week!
