Hello friends! It feels odd that this is the first post of the week.  I had a lot of things to do Sunday night and Monday morning so I couldn’t write out a post.  I’m thinking I might write a post tomorrow to make it up for it but don’t hold me to that!  Today I will be talking about my Whole 30 Week 1 Recap!  This was highly requested and I’m having such a great time with it I thought why not!

Let’s get right into it! So, if you don’t have the book I highly recommend you get it! I will link it right here for anyone who doesn’t have it.  READ IT!  There is so much helpful information and of course they have the grocery lists and amazing recipes.  Once you are done reading it you have a ton of things to do to get ready.  It’s all mindset and of course food.  I did a whole post on what it is and what to buy here if you want to know more about Whole 30.

Day 1: Yay!

I’m feeling super confident about this! I’ve done it before and loved it and couldn’t wait to get started.  I was eating great and working out twice a day what could go wrong?

Day 2: Another yay!

Still feeling confident.  Super sore from working out the day before but I knew I was going to watch a movie that night and needed to be prepared since popcorn was out.  I dried up some plantain and they were the PERFECT snack for the movies.

Day 3: Not bad

Nothing different here.  Eating breakfast a little later but only because my workouts tend to be in the morning and I hate working out after eating.  Was very busy working on my blog and drank way to many cups of coffee while watching friends.

Day 4: HORRIBLE!

I mean absolutely HORRIBLE! Hangover has officially hit and this headache wasn’t going away.  Not only that but I felt grouchy and super annoyed most of the day.  Didn’t want to hear it from anybody and didn’t want to be out but unfortunately had to.

Day 5: Date night

Headache finally gone THANK GOD! Also I was super excited because Friday night meant date night but also kind of nervous because I felt like we couldn’t truly enjoy ourselves.  I was so wrong and couldn’t have been happier about it! We went to Elevation Burger had a Whole 30 approved burger and it was delicious! It was such a great date night!

Day 6: HARD but overall success

This was by far the hardest day.  One because I usually meet up with different friends and two because we usually go out for brunch or drinks.  I totally tackled it though! I went to Shake Shack for lunch with a friend and had a Whole 30 approved burger and had the best time with her! It had been some time since I had seen her so it was great to get together! Since I knew I would want a dessert or shake (I mean hello) I brought a Larabar with me.  It was good that I did because it was just what I needed.  That night instead of going out for drinks, me and Ryan went to Dave & Busters! We had such a good time drinking our club waters with lime that and playing games!

Day 7: Mother’s Day

Woke up without any crazy hangover and that in itself was a win! (Not that I have many anyway) It was Mother’s Day and instead of taking my mom out to brunch and limiting my food choices I decided to make her brunch.  Everything from cinnamon rolls to mimosas while I had eggs and turkey bacon.  I had such a great time just spending the day with my mom that I didn’t care about what I was eating.  It was about being there with her.

OVERALL RECAP

The best thing is no longer feeling bloated! My tummy is looking flat but don’t get me wrong I don’t have a new ab poking in.  The hardest part was the weekend.  Even though I was able to conquer a lot of my fears it was still hard.  The temptations definitely come in on the weekend but with some determination I was able to get over them.

So many of you have been asking about what I eat during the week.  I will do a whole blog post on what I eat during the week maybe tomorrow! Leave any questions that you may have down below!

Hope you guys had an amazing week so far!

XOXO,
